Moambe is the national dish. Its name comes from the number of ingredients, which is eight – cassava leaves, hot pepper sauce, bananas, rice, peanuts, fish, chicken, and palm nuts. Saka-saka is a popular dish throughout Congo. It consists of cassava leaves, smoked fish, palm oil and peanut butter. It is also accompanied with plantains, fufu or Kwanga.
